Ozcan Jewellers is committed to protecting your privacy and data.  The information we collect is in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2018 and the Electronic Communications Regulations 2003

Who are we?

Ozcan Jewellers. Our aim is to provide exceptional service to our clients; whether that be in the purchasing of a beloved item of jewellery, repair work or a valuation for purposes of insurance.  Part of providing this service involves collecting data from our clients.  We do this to refer back to previous purchases/repairs/valuations to develop a better understanding of our customer’s needs and to aid any future work or legalities that may be required.

What information do we collect?

When you purchase something from us, as part of the buying and selling process, we collect the personal information you give us. When you browse our online store, we also automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address in order to provide us with information that helps us learn about your browser and operating system.  We also ask for your information when we provide a service to you, such as an insurance or probate valuation or a repair.  The information we hold about you may include:

  • Your name
  • Postal address
  • Telephone number
  • Email address
  • Previous purchases
  • Previous repairs
  • Previous valuations
  • Credit notes and deposits
  • Your preferences for how you would like to be communicated with about our store

We maintain a record of items you have bought but we never store your payment card number (although we may keep a note you the last four digits to help us identify transactions).

How do we use your data?

When you provide us with personal information to complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange for a delivery or return a purchase or if you ask us to provide a service such as a valuation or repair, we have legitimate interest to collecting it and using it for that specific reason only.

If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing, we will either ask you directly for your explicit consent, or provide you with an opportunity to say no.

With your permission, we may send you emails or invites/gift guides in the post about our store, new products and other updates.  Emails are on average once a month and mailings are on average once or twice a year.  You have the right to withdraw this information at any time.

Third-party services

We do not sell your information to any third-party providers.  However, we may use a third party to assist with payment gateways and platforms and email automation.  We have agreements in place with each provider to ensure that your date is secure and cannot be access or used for any other purpose

However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions. To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.
